Tesoro PTSA Senior Scholarship 2023

 
Titans, the Tesoro PTSA scholarship is available! March 1st is the last day to join the Tesoro PTSA to be eligible for the PTSA scholarship. Click HERE to join the Tesoro PTSA.
 
The Tesoro PTSA scholarship recognizes the achievements of students for volunteer service in the school and community, as well as for their academic and leadership accomplishments. Awards are to be used for continuing education at a four year college or university, a community college, or a trade/technical school.
Scholarship applications are due March 31st, 2023.
 
Scholarship prerequisites:
  • You must be a graduating senior at Tesoro High School in the current year.
      • You (the student) must be a member of the Tesoro High School PTSA by       March 1, 2023.
  • You must have a minimum 4-year weighted overall GPA of 3.0.

BLM² Scholarship Foundation

 
The BLM² Scholarship Foundation program is designed to address the financial needs of minority college students and award outstanding high school graduates who plan to earn a baccalaureate degree from an accredited, four-year college or university with financial assistance.
 
To be eligible for a BLM² Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:
 
Plan to attend an accredited college or university within the United States.
Be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award.
Must be a permanent US Citizen.
Must hold a high school Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Must be enrolled as a full time student during the Fall Academic Semester of the award.

Cabrillo Civic Club of California Scholarship

 
The Cabrillo club of California is an organization for Californians of Portuguese decent interested in the Portuguese culture, founded on the basis of honoring the memory of Joao Rodrigues Cabrillo, promoting the Portuguese culture, improving the surrounding community through civic involvement and providing financial assistance for Portuguese youth seeking a college education.
 
The Cabrillo clubs exist to meet the needs of close fellowship among its members of like ideals who are interested in the same end. We award $500.00 scholarships each year to deserving students of Portuguese Descent throughout the State of California.  The deadline is March 15, 2023.
 
 

Capistrano Valley Republican Women Federated

 
The Capistrano Valley Republican Women Federated (CVRWF) is awarding three $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in the Capistrano Valley area for this school year.
We will be accepting applications beginning January 1, 2023. The scholarship acceptance deadline for this school year is April 15, 2023.
Winners will be announced once applications have been reviewed by the CVRWF Scholarship Committee.
Eligibility:
–  United States citizen
–  High school senior attending public high school in Capistrano Unified or Saddleback Valley Unified School District
–  Registered Republican voter (intend to register if not 18)
–  Completed application
–  Available for an interview with CVRWF Scholarship Committee
–  Minimum GPA: 3.2​

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship

 
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 35th class in 2023, the Foundation has provided over 6,750 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $81 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. The 2024 application is now open here for students who will graduate during the 2023-2024 academic year. The deadline to apply is Monday, October 2, 2023, by 5 pm Eastern.
 
 

Edison Scholarship

$50,000 STEM COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
 
The Edison Scholars Program recognizes students who want to be makers of tomorrow — the dreamers, inventors, guardians and pioneers — those who dare to be great.
In 2023 Edison International awarded $50,000 college scholarships to 30 high school seniors to help them follow their dreams in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) and empower them to change the world.
This is a chance for students with big dreams to advance their education and take part in shaping a brighter future.
 
Edison International has awarded more than $15 million in scholarships to 760 students through the Edison Scholars program since 2006.
 
 

THE DETAILS

 
Here’s the rundown of requirements:
  • Must be a high school senior with at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA, plan to pursue studies in the STEM fields at a four-year accredited college or university and show financial need.
  • Eligible STEM majors include computer and information systems, engineering, engineering technology, management information systems, mathematics, natural resources and conservation and physical sciences.
  • Applicants must live in Southern California Edison’s service area- link opens in new window.
  • The top 50 finalists will be required to submit a short video and potentially participate in a final interview. Don’t stress, these are just ways to get to know you better.
  • Dependents of Edison International and SCE employees and retirees are not eligible.

Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc.

 
Career & technical Scholarships
500 scholarships at up to $2,500 each
The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the generosity of Horatio Alger Association Members, Dennis R. Washington and Jim F. Dicke II.  Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.
 
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Have completed high school (or earned a high school equivalency credential) by July 1
  • Be enrolled in an associate’s degree, certificate, or diploma program by       September that will lead to employment
  • May not be enrolled in pre-requisite courses
  • Attend a not-for-profit post-secondary institution
  • Demonstrate financial need; applicants must either show family income of   $55,000 or less OR prove Pell Grant eligibility
  • Be under the age of 35
  • Be a United States citizen
  •  
Funds may be used for any costs associated with earning a degree/certificate including, but not limited to: tuition, fees, books, supplies, transportation and other personal expenses.  All scholarship funds are paid directly to the institution on behalf of the recipient.Apply HERE

Kimmy Duong Foundation Scholarship


With the substantial support from Mr. Uy Nguyen, CEO of Teletron, The Kimmy Duong
Foundation is happy to announce our new program The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Scholarship Southern CA - School Year 2023 – 2024. The program is for undergraduate students enrolled in the following four institutions:
University of California LA (UCLA), Cal State Long Beach, University of California, Irvine (UCI) and Cal Poly Pomona.
Eligible students must be Vietnamese-American US Citizens or US permanent residents:
• Outstanding academic achievement,
• Strong leadership potential,
• A track record of service to the Vietnamese and American communities
• Pride in their Vietnamese culture and heritage,
• A passion to apply their academic background to create a better world, both in
America and in Vietnam and
• Accepting scholarships at the Scholarship Award Ceremony.

Each undergraduate scholarship will be $3,000 annually (Diamond Prize), $2,000 annually (Gold Prize) or $1,000 annually (Silver Prize). The scholarship is renewable annually for up to 4 years, for students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree. The Willow Tree Scholarship


The Wall Point of View Project 501(c)(3) would like to welcome your graduating seniors to apply for the Willow Tree Scholarship.
The Willow Tree Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in Orange County, California who will enter their first year of post-secondary education at any two or four-year accredited institution in the United States by Fall semester 2023 or Winter quarter 2024.  
Recipients are awarded a scholarship of $1,000 to be used toward their first year of college.  Winners of the scholarship will be selected on their ability to write an essay expressing critical ideas that can generate a thoughtful connection with the reader.
Eligibility and Official Rules:
  • Currently a graduating high school senior attending school in Orange County, California.
  • Will attend a U.S. college in pursuit of a two or four-year degree in any major by January 2024.
  • Must submit a personal essay answering the writing prompt, not to exceed three (3)  double-spaced pages.  See left panel for this year’s question.

Foundation 649


Foundation 649 - is a 501c3 that discovers and empowers young, talented Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who are actively elevating and serving their communities across the country.

2023 SCHOLARSHIP PROMPT

Describe how your community uniquely contributes to the broader AAPI experience.

 

The Foundation 649 Scholarship is a grant of $4,000 over the course of 4 years that can be applied to college tuition and expenses. To maintain eligibility each year, there will be a brief check-in and renewal process at the end of each school year.Details
  • Five recipients will be selected
  • Each recipient will receive an award of $4,000 USD spread over 4 years
  • The award must be renewed each year to receive successive funds (details to come)
  • Application deadline is March 1, 2023
  • 10 entrants will be selected as finalists for video call interviews by March 31, 2023
  • Recipients are announced by April 15, 2023
Requirements
  • Be a degree-seeking, full-time student enrolling in a U.S. accredited university in Fall 2023 as a Freshman or transferring from a community college
  • Identify as Asian American / Pacific Islander
  • Have a track record of involvement and interest in AAPI communities, issues, or causes
  • Have demonstrated financial need for the scholarship
  • Be a US citizen, resident, or foreign national. Undocumented students are also welcome to apply.
ApplicationThe application consists of a questionnaire and a short essay (1000 word maximum). We want to hear your stories - we encourage creativity and originality (this should not be a rehash of your resume)! Alternate media will also be accepted in place of the essay if you choose (e.g. film, photography, etc.). If you are selected as a recipient, with your permission, we plan to share your submission with our audiences.

The Mission Viejo Activities Committee

MLG's Annual "Never Stop Learning" High School Scholarship


At MLG, we believe that education is the cornerstone of success. In that regard, we want to help support high school seniors with their quest to better themselves and brighten their future. We are proud to partner with high schools throughout Orange County to provide assistance to select individuals who have demonstrated a curiosity for learning and a zest for life.
Eligibility:
  • All high school seniors residing in Orange County, CA
  • Must be planning on attending an accredited university or community college in the U.S.

OCCACCF - The Orange County Chinese-American Chamber of Commerce


Foundation is committed to supporting students who have succeeded both inside and outside of the classroom, but may not be able to attend college without financial assistance. We believe that investing in these promising students results in sustained, positive change for the individual scholars as well as the broader community. To this end, we grant $200,000 in scholarship awards across 10 students of Chinese descent every year. More information on eligibility is listed below.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • The applicant has a need for financial aid to continue higher education (proof is needed, see below).
  • The applicant must be graduating from a high school in Orange County, Los Angeles County, and other nearby cities in summer of 2023.
  • The applicant must possess a current year admission to a community college, college or university by May 2023.
  • The applicant has at least one parent who is of Chinese descent.
  • The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (non-weighted)

Foundation For Fraternal Excellence

 
The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required.

The Junior League of Orange County, CA


JLOCC is pleased to announce that we will again be seeking qualified applicants to compete for our annual Scholarships Awards. This year, up to $2,000 will be awarded to deserving students who are striving to pursue a college degree.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Currently a graduating high school senior
  • High school or post-secondary grade point average of 3.0 or above
  • Citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Pending acceptance to a post-secondary institution (required for receipt of scholarship)
  • If registering as a part-time student, proof of 20 or more hours of work per week
  • Agreement to attend the JLOCC’s Annual Meeting on June 1, 2022, to accept any award or send an appropriate designee (parent, executive director of the project/program, foster parent, etc.)

The Uzair Qureshi Memorial Fund


This is a foundation created in honor of the passing of Uzair in 2015 from cancer. Uzair attended SJHHS and had a passion to learn and swim. Due to this, the Qureshi Family created the foundation to continue his legacy and raise money for pediatric cancer research and to award scholarships to graduating high school seniors to help them accomplish their goals and dreams in furthering their education. The Orange County Youth Sports Foundation


OCYSF is seeking qualified candidates for its Scholar-Athlete Achievement Awards for the 51st consecutive year. These $2,500 awards honor college-bound young men and women who will graduate from Orange County high schools in May/June, 2022. Fifteen (15) such scholarships were awarded in 2021. The criteria for evaluation and selection are:
  • Athletic participation, performance, leadership, and character
  • Academic achievement (minimum 3.5 GPA)
  • Campus leadership and citizenship; community service
  • Financial need

Directions: This application is intended to be collaborative. In other words, the applicant may complete the form with support from teachers, counselors, coaches, or anyone else the applicant sees fit to support the application process. We look forward to reading your submission.

Edwards Lifesciences Foundation


Our annual scholarship program is open and accepting applications from high school seniors, with a focus on increasing access to higher education and to promote careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). 
Through this program, we will award 12 four-year scholarships of $2,500 per year ($10,000 in total) to high school seniors from Orange County, California or Salt Lake County, Utah or Puerto Rico who are pursuing bachelor’s degrees in STEM fields.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Be a current high school senior residing in Orange County, California, Salt Lake County, Utah, Puerto Rico, or be a child (or in the guardianship) of an U.S. Edwards Lifesciences employee
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
  • Demonstrate financial need

PFLAG South Orange County Scholarship


Outstanding graduating high school seniors and college/vocational students are encouraged to apply for the scholarships offered through PFLAG South Orange County.  Monetary awards of up to $2,500.00 are available to residents (or children of residents) of Orange County between the ages of 17-24 who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, or queer/questioning, and to straight allies who have directly supported LGBTQI youth and/or the LGBTQI community.Eligibility Requirements:
  • 2.0 Overall GPA
  • Must be a resident (or a parent must be a resident) of Orange County at the time of the application.

Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) 

 
is a nonprofit, charitable organization with the mission to make a difference in the lives of others, one person at a time. We understand the challenges that students may face to gain access to higher education. At MADF, we want to help relieve some of the financial burden by offering scholarships to students who demonstrate a financial need and who are persistent in achieving their educational goals.
PurposeMADF believes that education is the greatest equalizer. We make a difference in education by providing scholarships. We also partner with schools, non-profits, churches, and other organizations by making financial contributions to their educational programs.
AwardWe are awarding up to 10 scholarships. The students selected by The MADF Scholarship Selection Committee will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship to apply towards college expenses. Previous scholarship awardees can apply annually up to a maximum of 4 years. Applications are due May 31, 2022.
