In this fun and hands-on course, you'll learn the basics of working with clay through hand-building and using the potter’s wheel. You'll also explore ways to decorate your work, learn key art terms, discover a bit of ceramics history, and see how people turn their passion for clay into careers.
 
THIS COURSE MEETS THE UC/CSU "VPA" REQUIREMENT.
 

ADVANCED CERAMICS COURSE DESCRIPTION

Prerequisite - Ceramics 1A and 1B
 
The advanced ceramics course is all about taking your skills to the next level. You’ll build on what you’ve learned by diving deeper into wheel-throwing, hand-building, and creative surface techniques. Expect more complex projects, opportunities to develop your own artistic style, and a closer look at ceramic art from different cultures and time periods. You’ll also explore how to build a portfolio and what it takes to pursue ceramics beyond high school.This course can be taken more than once for credit.
 
THIS COURSE MEETS THE UC/CSU "COLLEGE PREP ELECTIVE" REQUIREMENT.
